How Can I Pray For THEM????

Sometimes you just don't want to pray for somebody. Like yesterday.

Ok. I was in the bathroom after lunch cutting up with my friends. I came out with my friend
and my other friend (who's a boy) came up to me.

He said,"J punched and kicked W in the bathroom!!! He cornered him!!!"

 I was so shocked.

They both had to go to the principal's office. W didn't get in trouble, but J was suspended at school yesterday and at home today.

I went home and told my mom. She said we really need to pray for J because he needs the Lord. I prayed for him that night, but inside, I was mad at J.

My teacher was gone yesterday, but she was at school today. She talked to us about how if we ever feel threatened, we need to come to her. She said that we need to be a friend to J even though we don't want to.
We prayed for him and went on with our day.

So I am going to try and be kind even though I am mad. And it's hard.

God wants us to love one another.

A new commandment I give to you that you love one another. Even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

                          John 13:34-35

Even though we may not like everyone, we should love them, and pray for them.:)

Oh Emma! I needed this today!! I love your heart and that you shared this!
I try to remember what I teach ... that God wants us to treat others the way we want to be treated. And that I should love others no matter how they act. HARD stuff.
I know its hard, to love others like Jesus...

Love ya sweetie!

We will be praying for J, Emma! I'll echo what Piper has said: Remember how we've talked about in SS how we can't always control how people act, but we can control how we respond to those actions--and the Lord always require we respond in a Christ-like way. It's tough stuff, but after all He has done for us, we can do this for Him. Right? Also, think about that song Tina sings, "When you don't feel like praying--pray." I believe God understands what we can't always put into words. Hang in there!
