My Uncle John Patrick has just left for the navy. But I'm fine. I haven't even cried
a single tear.

But I've done well lately. I cried a lot the day before he left, but otherwise, I'm good.
I'm going to miss him though. He was a big reason why I liked to go to my grandmother's
house. Because he was there.

My sister has been reading like crazy!! Seriously!!!
This summer so far has been relaxing. We don't have to go anywhere!

I can remember when my brother left for the Navy...and that has been many many years ago. I know you will miss him.... be sure to write him. That encouraged my brother more than I ever knew.
I am jealous that you are having such a relaxing summer. We have spent the last several weeks on the baseball field watching Bub play. He LOVES playing. I love to watch him too. But, I think I am planning a party on Sunday after his last one!!!! If you hear a loud cheer Sunday night, its probably me!!
